Sunny Bali Outfit + Ghost Train WAKUWAKU JAPAN Movie Review

What is the best daytime outfit to wear in a sunny place like Bali? If your answer is something lightweight, then we're on the same track. Considering the hot and humid weather, there's nothing else I'd rather wear than some lightweight pieces PLUS sunblock to protect my bare skin that's not covered in clothes. On this occasion, I threw on a graphic sleeveless cotton tee on top of my bright colored bikini, a pair of exotic print shorts and put on ethnic necklaces and bangles for more 'Bali' look. Aside from the actual function, the mirror sunnies was also cute as an accessory.

To complement the casual look, I added strappy ethnic heels which match my gold necklace and bangles, and also my blue shorts.

I think this beach wave hairstyle looks really good for this outfit. It's really easy to make, too! Would love to make a tutorial for this anytime soon. ^^

Anyway, Elle and I recently watched a horror movie from WAKUWAKU JAPAN TV Channel (#168) called Ghost Train / Otoshimono (オトシモノ).

Synopsis

There is something strange happening in Tokyo subway. A lot of people are reported missing, including Nana (Erika Sawajiri)'s little sister. Together with her friend Kanae (Chinatsu Wakatsuki), Nana is investigating the mystery. There's also this train conductor Toshikazu (Oguri Shun) who's being relocated to the lost-and-found department after he initiatively stopped a train because he reportedly saw a ghost on the railroad. They then find out that the missing people have something in common; they picked up a seemingly dropped-by-accident train ticket. And whenever someone's gone missing, there's always this strange, mysterious woman in black standing on the train platform.

Review

As a horror flick, Ghost Train has a pretty interesting storyline, but it lacks a lot of important things to make it even a decent movie. The pace is too slow and when it reaches the climax, it isn't even as scary or surprising as expected for such a long wait. Heavily focused on the cute main actress Erika Sawajiri (cast as Nana), her acting is also disappointing because she shows roughly similar faces / expressions to different situations (e.g. scared, surprised, tired) and it's not even convincing. Supporting actress Chinatsu Wakatsuki (cast as Kanae)'s acting is better. Special effect and make up are slightly below average. In conclusion, we wouldn't recommend you to watch it unless you're a fan of Erika Sawajiri (there are plenty of her shots and she's so kawaii here! Plus this is her FIRST horror movie ^^) or if you're out of choice. Having said that, it's still watchable, but we'd recommend you to lower your expectation before watching it. :)

WAKUWAKU JAPAN TV, please bring more horror / thriller movies to the screen, arigato gozaimasu!

After earning your papers, it takes you to the Office Challenge where you can earn points to WIN the actual prizes!

Remember Diner Dash? Well here in The PaperMaster, you have to assist your colleagues by:

2. Bring the right paper and

3. Choose the right printer and print it for them before the time runs out!

There are 3 types of paper and also 3 types of printers, so you must be careful. ^^ The challenge grows faster and more difficult on each level. Before you know it, your colleagues will turn impatient and more demanding! *sounds like real life? Lol*

Anyway, before you can continue to the next Office Challenge level, you always have to earn your papers by playing the Tree Resource Game first. Kinda annoying because you must be all fired up to go to the next level but this is also such a clever way to remind you that those papers must be earned through a process (well in this game, it takes your effort and time, right?), so you better not waste it. ^^b

Do we enjoy the game? YES! But most of all, we are personally delighted by this clever and environmentally friendly marketing idea from PaperOne^TM because this PaperMaster game is so fun and addictive (not to mention the cute song + graphic) and yet it is very educative.

As you can see, the purpose of this game is to educate users (in REALLY fun way) about:

I Feel Good

My mom once told me that wearing nail polish and perfume can boost her mood. I can never understand that as I'm not a fan of those beauty products. My perfume, for example, has been with me since 2009!! I only have ONE perfume and just wear it on special occasions. I wonder if it's expired yet. Still smells good though! *sniff2*

Anyway, for me, it's always been wearing bright colored outfits! :D
Every time I feel sluggish or not productive, I push myself to change my clothes to the bright colored ones and it instantly gets me in a better mood! ♫ James Brown - I Feel Good ♬

Family Comes First!

How close are you with your grandparents?
Me? Pretty close, especially the ones from my mom's side. :)
When Jess and I were kids we often spent our Sundays having dim-sum with our big family and after that we usually went to the mall and watched a movie together. My late grandpa usually enjoyed his own time at the food court (he really liked hopping from one food stall to another) or at the book store. Not that he was aloof or he didn't enjoy spending time with his family, it's just that he was afraid he'd be a trouble since he couldn't walk too fast. He was always like that, his principle was, "Always give and do good. It's best to not ask for help from others if you can do it yourself. Don't make other people feel uncomfortable or burdened because of you."

God, I miss him so much. :')

My grandma on the other hand, she loves to share her wisdom and stories to her grandkids. My favorite stories have always been the ones about my mom and her siblings (my aunt and uncles) when they were kids and teens, like who was the naughtiest, stupid things they did, how my grandpa used to punish them, and so on. She is also a very caring and loving woman yet tough to the in-laws, lol. I think it's one of the cancer woman's traits (protective to their children)? haha..

Anyway, when I was 7yo I got chickenpox and she was the one who took care of me at her home because my mom was afraid Jess and my brother would catch it from me (of course mom visited me every day ok). Grandma bathed me, cooked some healthy food for me, helped me memorizing the multiplication table so I wouldn't left behind at school, and we always had a random conversation before we went to bed. She loved to give me advices about men and relationship, and also... teach me about Chinese culture lol.

As time went on and work took priority over most other stuff, I found myself more and more distant from my grandparents. There was no more dim sum tradition, and I only met them on family events which I often missed because of work! :(

This quote is so true though:
"We are so busy growing up, we often forget they are also growing old."

I always thought they wouldn't go anywhere, and if they did, I must have been prepared for it.

Turned out, I was not. Not even close.

The day my grandpa earned his angel wings was one of the hardest moments I had to go through in my life. I certainly did not expect it to happen so soon. We were all so heartbroken and broke down in tears. He was a very good man and someone we all look up to, and we felt like we haven't done our best to repay his great love and kindness.

But, there is always a silver lining in the darkest of cloud. This tragic occurrence has made us all realized how important family is. As for Jess and I, we've made a resolution to cut ourselves some slack and make time at least once a week to spend some quality time with our grandma. Another resolution is to take as many family photos as possible! ;D

One of the best ways that you can do to strengthen the family (or friendship) bond is by doing activities together! Like this 'Sparkling Friendship Goes to HK' #FOXSSparklingHK activity! I asked my grandma to join it with me and we had SO much fun! You just have to post a picture of you and your BFF with your chosen FOX'S color theme here and don't forget to pose with FOX's candy too! :D

If I have to choose what color that best represents our relationship, I think it would be blue, as it is fresh and relaxed, just like water. HAHA!
