A bit Boyish

A very quick outfit post before I'm going to meet my heartthrobs at the BIGBANG ALIVE TOUR Concert!! Ahh so excited!! Even though I cannot sing along with them (obviously), but watching their live performance alone is more than enough to give me chills!!! ;D~~♥

Anyway, back to the outfit.
Today I wanted to try a boyish look, and what pops up in my mind when I hear 'boyish' is a plaid shirt! Then to spice it up a bit, I added the happening army green jacket because I think the colors go together very well, plus the (jacket's) fabric is so soft and comfortable you're gonna love it!
For the accessories, I just went with black colors, except the burgundy polkadot socks and red flower ring to make it less serious. :D

That's it! Hope you all have a great Friday!!!
By the way, how great would my Friday be, if I could meet five of them at the backstage?
Ahh, just thinking about it makes me grin like a loon.

COINCIDENCE // Kristine's Collection Giveaway! (CLOSED)

Kristine's Collection blue textured blazer | Topshop polkadot high-waisted skirt | Amber Avenue aztec bralette | Gowigasa gold spike necklace | Marc by Marc Jacobs bag | Steve Madden cobalt blue wedges
No idea what my left hand is doing there...

Coincidences happen to us all the time; and the most recent one that happened to me is this outfit you just saw up there.

It started when an online store from Singapore, Kristine's Collection, kindly offered to be my blog sponsor. I was very excited because not only their collection is a treat for the eye, but you can also see that the fabric is well-made and the cutting is excellent as well!

...and boy was I right. When the package has arrived, without further ado, I tried them one by one and they ALL fit my body perfectly! Especially the blue textured blazer that immediately made its way to my "Favorite Outerwear" list.

What I had in mind at that moment was, "I want to pair it with printed bottoms." And so there you go, I picked out my Topshop polkadot high-waisted skirt and my new Aztec Bralette from Amber Avenue; then the next morning before I went to Plaza Indonesia, I took a few shots of the outfit to post it on my (neglected) blog.

On my way to the mall, I browsed Kristine's Collection web store to see if there were any new arrivals, but instead I found this –a list of photos from fashion bloggers who has featured Kristine on their blogs. One of them is Tricia Gosingtian (one of my favorite fashion bloggers) who really surprised me to the core. She wore this exact blue blazer and she also paired it with polkadot print bottoms!! I was like... "WHAT.IS.THIS!!?" and I was thinking about changing the bottoms and redo the shoot all over again because I was afraid I would be accused of copying her! But after a lot of thought and consideration, I just laughed it off as it is pure coincidence that comes at a completely shitty time.

Kindly join our new GIVEAWAY on Facebook (Elle and Jess) to win IDR 150.000 worth of Kristine's Collection E-Vouchers!! ;D♥

ps. You will need to login to your Facebook account first! :)

Crop and High Waist

Today I went with this really flattering cropped top (and also a turtle neck!) that I got from Forever21, it kind of reminds you of 90s style, doesn't it? And I decided to pair it with high-waist bottoms because I think they are a perfect match made in heaven as the shorts can cover any excess skin showing. : )

Oh I'm such a sucker for high waist shorts, really. The reasons are clear: they can elongate your legs and accentuate your waist! Thus they can create a sleeker silhouette. The ones that reach all the way up to the smallest part of your waist are the BEST, like on my post here. That's exactly the secret why a lot of people commented I looked so skinny there; thanks to my super high waist skirt.

By the way, I'm going to be pretty busy preparing for GOWIGASA's new arrivals, so I guess I won't be able to blog for awhile. So till then! Take care and don't do anything stupid! ;)

Galaxy Cat

Finally I got myself a galaxy print top! I know it's been a huge pattern since like... 2010? Well, I can honestly say I'm not an early adopter when it comes to fashion trends or gadgets.
Truth is, I was not really a fan of galaxy print either because it's literally everywhere! *galaxypuke.jpg*
But when I saw this stunning top with eye-catching colors at Chic Nova, I just couldn't help it but to fall in love! The thing I love the most from this shirt is no other than its colors, why? Because it's SO rare to find the one with this color combos! Most of them go with purple/red/blue/brown/pink (I'm not saying that they are not cool though).

I tied the shirt because the length is quite long it can cover up my shorts maybe someday I'd wear it again with leggings.
Chose to pair it with my new black leather shorts from Topshop, because it is high waist which means it will prevent any excess skin showing from my cropped top!

Another thing that really pops out from this top is the ruffled detail in the back ♥
Ha! This is the second reason behind the post title: Vintage Cat Eye Sunglasses. I think they are über cool and can really make a statement to your outfit anytime, plus make you stand out! You can get them at $9.90 only at Chic Nova!
Went with some silver tone jewelry from Forever21 and PullandBear.
Last but not least, I will also share my love for this leather studded bag from... *drumrolls* GOWIGASA! Wait for it to come out in our next collection! ;D

Flowers in my hair

Hi, lovely readers! It's been two weeks since my last post and we almost reach the end of July, whoa... Time flies! That means half of 2012 has gone by. I hope you've accomplished some of your 'New Year's Resolutions'. If you haven't, well you still have another five months left. Make good use of your time! ;)

What I've been doing lately?

As you can see from the photos above, I have finally permed my hair (for the first time in my life)! The reason for my perm was because my hair was *too* smooth and limp! One might think that straight hair is elegant or neat, well it is if it has Volume.

Take a look at Jennifer Aniston's photos below:

This is what I meant by limp hair. It makes your hair look oily and lifeless.
...and it certainly does not look as good as:
Straight hair with volume!
Or even more volume!
You know, before I permed my hair, I had to blow dry my hair plus curl it with a hair straightener (not a curling iron) every time I wanted to go outside just to create volume. And even tough I've finished it with a hair spray, it still didn't last that long (because it's too damn smooth)! Fml.

After googling and asking some of my friends, turns out hair-perming is the answer for this type of hair texture! The whole process took approx. 2 hours (not bad) and you know what? When it was done, my hair totally resembled Princess Merida's from Brave (aside from the hair color)! No kidding!

But apparently it does take 28 hours for a perm to 'relax.' Phew!
Fyi, the outfit photos above was taken one week after the process. Although it looks (and it is) drier than before, I honestly love how the result turns out! Now every time I want to go somewhere, I only need to blow dry my hair for a while (just to dry it up after I wash it) to get the end result. Save so much time and energy! I just hope it won't damage my hair. My hair stylist said I only need to give my hair a hair spa or creambath treatment once a week or every two weeks.

Some hair perming tips from About.com

"One way you can find out if your hair is damaged and can't withstand more chemical processing is to do the old float trick. Take a few strands of hair and put them in a glass of water, if they sink, this means your hair is damaged and is soaking up moisture. If the strands float, this means your hair is healthy."

"If you have dry hair or loads of short layers, you aren't the best candidate for a perm. Perms will dry hair out even more and a perm on short, layered hair could end up poodle-like.
Not sure if your hair is a good candidate for a perm? Ask your stylist."
