Braids Vs. Buns | 4 Celeb Inspired Summer Hairstyles | Elle & Jess

An outfit isn't complete without a certain hairstyle to top it up. And when it comes to summer, all we want is to look cool AND stay cool at the same time. Especially since it's summer (read: hot and humid) all year long in Indonesia. But don't go chopping off your hair just yet, because we've got these four celebrity-inspired summer hairstyles that we think would be perfect for you to try out this weekend.

Hold up, sit tight, got two braids and two buns coming up!

Braids
1. Chic Side Braid

Chun Li and Pucca would be thrilled when they know that their uber cute hairstyle is now coachella-approved. Moreover, you can also wear your double buns overnight and turn it into curls in the morning, just like Jess did in this video:

Anyway, if you like to color your hair like we do, you might be interested to know that there is a new hair color product in town: NYU. Healthy Hair Tips


As much as I love my hometown, Jakarta, I can't ignore the fact that the air pollution here is pretty bad. And it does not only affect our respiratory system, it also has negative effects on our skin and, thanks to new research, on our hair as well—ranging from dryness to breakage to hairfall!


Some people might say, "Oh it's just hair!"
Well to me, hair is more than an accessory; it's an investment. I mean, it can do a great deal for your look—when your hair looks amazing, your whole look is amazing, and you FEEL amazing!


Since I was in middle school, my mom - who really cares about skin and hair care - have made me used Pantene shampoo and conditioner. Sometimes I tried other brands, but always came back to Pantene with the reasons being:
1. The shampoo cleanses my hair without making it squeaky clean.
2. The conditioner leaves my hair soft and smooth, yet still full of body.
3. They have a long-lasting great scent. Having hair that smells great all day long can not only boost your mood and make you feel confident, but also helps to leave a good impression on others!


Now I'd like you to meet my P3K box, 'Pertolongan Pantene Pada Kerontokan' box from Pantene which consists of Pantene Hair Fall Control Shampoo and Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner—the duo that has helped me fight hair fall caused by air pollution and kept it strong and smooth!


For the conditioner though, you really have to leave it for three minutes for maximum benefits! I usually apply my body and facial wash while doing that so I won't get bored in the shower hahah. Then I'll just rinse them altogether. Playing music helps, too!


Here are some other tips for healthy, strong hair:

1. Wash your hair regularly
2. Apply conditioner to the midlengths of your hair to the ends (NOT to your scalp) after cleansing it with shampoo
3. Rinse thoroughly
4. Avoid using tight hair ties; opt for hair claw clip instead.
5. Healthy eating. Nutrients like vitamins, iron and proteins are needed for your hair growth and health.

A Mewracle ✨

As you have probably knew from Elle’s instastory yesterday, we just experienced a miracle, or should I say...
A MEWRACLE. 😹 🙏 ✨ ✨ ✨ 

12.12.2017. It was cloudy with a drizzle and we were on our way to the mall. Our car was moving slowly when we saw this tiny, grey furry thing scurried down the path and almost got hit by a car in front of us. It awkwardly inched away from that car, and almost got hit by yet another car, and this time it was so close that I screamed out loud. By this time, it was clear to us that the furry grey little thing was a kitten, which by then made a wobbly turn and sprinted towards our direction.
Some securities saw the incident and one of them came close to check where the kitty is. He walked past our car, seemingly relaxed, so we assumed the kitty has made its own way to the bushes and we continued driving slowly to the lobby. That’s when a woman hysterically pointed to our car wheel, and two securities rushed to check it out. Can you guys imagine our horror?? 😱

We quickly got off the car, checked the front left wheel where the hysterical lady pointed at, and to our (endless) surprise, the kitty was there! We only saw its head tho, in-between the rim, for goodness sake. Thankfully it was still moving, but we were afraid its body got stuck in the rim because it seemed like it couldn’t get out of there. The securities tried to get it out, but their hands couldn’t reach it because the rim holes were too small for them, so I tried, very carefully as not to hurt the kitty. It was raining and the mall was playing the song ‘Hallelujah’, so I got a bit emotional and sobbed while I was trying, and finally, I managed to get it out - alive and well without a single scratch some more, thank God! 🙏🙏🙏 

So if what they say is true that a cat has nine lives, then this kitty has just spent three out of them in just a few minutes. 😱 😭 👊 

In the car, she (yes, it's a female btw 😻) just stared at me and maintained her adorable position in the cradle of my hands. I think she's also really shocked with the series of accidents she got herself into.

We quickly took her to the nearest vet to get her cleaned up and medically checked.

The doctor said she's okay *phew* and healthy. We were going to have her vaccinated right away, but doc said she's still too young (1,5 month old), so she should at least wait for another month for the jab.

Made her into a burrito! Or should I say... purrito? 😽

Adopt Mew?
 Anyway, here comes the sad part.
We live in an apartment and *secretly* already have two cats with us: @boluthecat and @miikopanda. While we really want to adopt this cutie cat, we can't because this baby wouldn't stop meowing the moment we leave her alone. This could make us caught by our apartment's security, and risk Bolu and Miiko getting extracted as well. Bolu and Miiko are very quiet, by the way, so they never got caught. *fingers crossed* 🤞  Getting her back on the street is not an option as well, because as you can already tell from my story up there, this girl is just too careless and she's definitely not made for the street. 🤦‍♀️ 😭

So, I am asking if there's any of you guys who would happily adopt this adorable girl and take a good care of her? 😣 🙏  Her personality is friendly, super cuddly, and curious as a cat should be. I am sure she would be a very lovely companion, and any hooman would be so lucky to have her. ♥️
